Conference, ‘Mapping the Rollback? Human rights provisions of the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement 15 years on’- 26 April, Belfast

Date: 26 April 2013

Time: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Venue: Great Hall, Queens University Belfast

The CAJ in collaboration with the Transitional Justice Institute (University of Ulster) and the Human Rights Centre (Queens University Belfast) invite you to attend their conference ‘Mapping the Rollback? Human rights provisions of the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement 15 years on’

This full day conference is to coincide with the 15 anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement (10 April 2013) to publicly discuss and map the phenomena of commitments which have never been implemented and areas where institutional and policy gains were made which are now being undermined. The overall objective of this conference is to provide momentum as well as a written conference report with a counter-narrative to the ‘everything is sorted/NI process model for the world’ perspective on the status of the peace settlement.

Furthermore, the conference provides an opportunity to influence key actors to the current debate accelerated by the flags protests in relation to matters such as socio-economic and cultural rights, providing a timely reminder there were, largely unimplemented, provisions in the various agreements making up the settlement which were to address both.
