New Community Law and Mediation Centre to open in Limerick

Northside Community Law and Mediation Centre (NCLMC) have received funding from the Limerick Regeneration Agencies and the Public Interest Law Alliance (a project of FLAC) to establish a community law and mediation service in Limerick. The Service, Limerick Community Law and Mediation Centre, will deliver legal advice, information, advocacy and representation in the Limerick regeneration communities. A mediation service is also being developed, with the assistance of Northside Mediation, to provide a community-based dispute resolution service.

Caroline Keane has been appointed as solicitor to the Centre. Consultation with residents and community groups is currently taking place in relation to the delivery of the service, and it is planned to roll out the service in the regeneration areas in January, commencing with legal advice clinics and “Know Your Rights” courses.
