Second International Conference on Human Rights Education, Durban, South Africa - November 2011

The Faculty of Law at the University of KwaZulu-Natal has been selected to host the 2nd International Conference on Human Rights Education from 14-16 November 2011.

The overall theme of this year's conference is "celebrating diversity and achieving social justice through human rights education". The Conference will include plenary sessions, workshops, and presentations of case-studies and sharing of best practices, as well as thematic panels, and aims to attract a broad spectrum of stakeholders both formally and informally involved in human rights education and human rights more broadly. It is further intended that a publication will be produced including select papers that have been presented during the Conference.

Should you wish to make a presentation at the Conference, an abstract of your paper (300 words maximum) must be submitted to the Conference Steering Committee by no later than Friday, 15 July 2011. Please email your abstract to hre2011@ukzn.ac.za or fax it to +27(0)31 260 1606.
