ICCL Evening Anthony Lester QC 24 November 2010

The Irish Council for Civil Liberties (ICCL) are holding their 3rd Annual Dinner and Lecture for legal practitioners on Wednesday, 24 November 2010. Special guest speaker for the evening, Mr Anthony Lester QC, will give an address on 'Taking Human Rights Seriously'.


Mr Lester QC is a Liberal Democrat life peer and President of the Human Rights Lawyers Association. He was a founder of Interights (the International Centre for the Legal Protection of Human Rights) was architect of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 and Race Relations Act 1976 as special adviser to Home Secretary Roy Jenkins. He is Adjunct Professor of Public Law at University College Cork and is Joint Editor of Butterworths Human Rights Law and Practice (Third Ed. 2009). He is also a Junior Member of the Bar Council of Ireland.


The evening includes a drinks reception, lecture and a three course meal with wine in the private dining area of Fallon & Byrne, Exchequer Street, Dublin 2. Places are strictly limited.
