US: Law School in Michigan establishes clinical legal education project

A professor at the Cooley Law School in Michigan has established a clinical legal education project for Michigan State. It is hoped that this pro bono project will be assisted by the fact that the Michigan Bar has a pro bono service requirement. The program, entitled the "10CORE Project", will pair volunteer attorneys at law with law students to write articles on certain legal issues in real estate law which will then be published on a website for public viewing. The project aims to educate the public on certain aspects of real estate transactions so as to prevent mortgage fraud, with the Professor involved having been a general counsel of the Detroit Housing Commission and former chairperson of the Michigan State Housing Development.
